Venom Racing Speedometer!

(Click on each image to see it larger and clearer)

After reading a few things about the VSM at the rcgroups.com forum, specifically a post by MV Agusta, I realized that I had to relocate the Venom Racing speedo, so it could be visible at a glance. The way I had it at first, I should first remove the fairing to have a peek at the vital stats!

Too much time consuming!

So... i mounted it to the right of the steering head.

I also rerouted almost all the cables on the bike, so they are out of moving parts, like the steering and brake servo and the respective linkages.

I also switched to 48DP gears, since I had a spare HPI 96T spur and a lot of 48DP pinions at hand, from my 1/10 cars. I also drilled a 3mm recess for the magnet on this spur and kept the pickup sensor at the same spot as previously.

Now, even with fairings on, it's just a glance to see hwo fast you just went! The only thing is that if you wish to go through the speedo's menus, you still have to use some screwdriver to lightly press on the buttons.
