Part 2/3

Right after lunch we hit the Autobahn once again and headed northwest, towards Holland.

At some point there was some rain, so we stopped to don raingear.

Then at exactly this intersection...

...disaster strikes. Ture somehow fell and his bike slid under the left side of the stopped bike of Bruno, in the process shearing off Bruno's left luggage bottom, and hitting Bruno on the lower left leg from the behind.

Fortunately for everyone, Ture was barely moving, and the damage was only to small plastic parts, as well as some pain on Bruno's leg.

Unfortunately, Ture's throttle cable was hit too, even though the bike fell on its left side, and upon starting it again, the throttle, having a mind of its own went as high as 7000rpm or so, and the bike fell again, this time on the grass by the road, and on its right side! Of course Ture's right saddlebag was the easy victim of this no-speed fall, and Pavlos had to carry both cases inside the Miata for the rest of the trip to Zwartluis. Once again noone was really hurt. The most funny thing next was the group photo of us that the Dutch police must have somehow! I was told later that everyone was smiling while the flashes did their thing, since the cameras were looking at OUR FACES, and not our license plates!!!!!!!

Back to the start of the trip
...or to next page. The day continues here, and happier too!
