We left Andermatt heading east, towards Oberalp. A couple km's on the mountain, we stopped for a few pics.

Notice the work that has been done on the mountains to prevent avalanches killing people. Next was Oberalp.

At some point we turned south from the "big road" towards the small villages of Obersaxen. This road meets the main one, again at Ilanz.

Have you ever been to THESE places?! We have!

Opposite Obersaxen valley are a few more fairytale villages...

At Flond I was left without front brake completely. We stopped there, asked a local mechanic, he suggested we find BMW of Chur. It was close: Just 8 km to the east... No problem with careful driving.

We found BMW Chur, ordered the part and were promised next morning at 10 am we would be back on the road. So, we ate McDonalds (bliah!) for lunch, the Mazda got itself a ticket inside a "Frei Parking" and finally we settled at IBIS Hotel. In the afternoon we did a small walk in the old city of Chur.

Walking in the streets we saw this little Greek flag at a shop close to the Cathedral! We introduced ourselves to the happy owner who was outside, and who then invited us inside for a cup of (real, not Frappe!) Greek coffee. We left the place after we bought (actually he gifted us them!) a small box of dolmades and a small cup of fat greek olives!

Back to the start of the trip

Next day we fix the brake and do another FIVE passes!
