Performance Car's comparison tests

The british mag Performance Car has done two comparison tests with the Punto GT taking part...

PC 3 car test The first test, published in PC, May 1994, was among the Punto GT, Seat Ibiza GTi 2.0 and the Renault Clio RSi 1.8. The clear winner of the test came out to be the Punto, a newcomer, then, ..."though not by a huge margin. It will corner as hard as the Clio but isn't as sensitive or involving; its steering could do with more feel and the delivery of its turbocharged engine is rather abrupt. But it offers the best value, best packaging, is well put together and is easily the fastest. If you can live with the looks, it's the one to go for."
(Quoted from PC, May '94)
