Day 8! Tuesday, July 6, 2010 Today's ride: Trento, Val Gardena, Passo Gardena, Campologno, Fedaia, Agordo, Passo Cereda, Aurina, Treviso, Venezia.

Despite the evening thunderstorm at Trento, the morning rose sunny and very warm. Thanks to the hospitality of the Zorat family, once again, I spent a quiet evening trying various homemade beers!

So, I rode north towards Bolzano for some time, following the SS road, which flows alongside the Adige river, not really inspiring, but nonetheless I did it. I turned east on Val Gardena, only to be greeted by thick morning traffic, both ways... This continued almost up to Passo Gardena...

Passo Gardena, then...

I didn't stay long there, preferring to do smaller roads, like Campologno and then Fedaia.

Fedaia is one of my favorites, especially on the way down eastwards...

Marmolada and the smaller lake after the main lake of Fedaia...

This is exactly what I was talking about!!!

Forcella Aurina

At Passo Cereda I stopped, made some Greek Frappe and enjoyed the scenery!

Then I turned my wheels almost completely south, towards Treviso and Venezia, with three hours to spare. I cheaped out and did not take the Autostrada, even before Treviso, and this almost made me miss my boat! I did the last 110-120km's in more than two hours in heavy rain and densely thick traffic, full of trucks and cars with fogged windows... I made it to the port at 18.40, and the boat left at 19.00 sharp!!! Phew!

Many many many many thanks to Peter, Jana and Sara for organizing an excellent EP. Also, many many many many thanks to Nicola and Manuela, as well as the Oberst Clan and the Zorat Famiglia, for letting me enjoy their so fine hospitality once again!

Probably, I'll see you somewhere in Europe, next year! Oh... or maybe in August, in Grenoble, at the World Championship for Radio Controlled Motorcycles, maybe?!
